I believe the arts are an essential part of a complete education. We know that some students thrive in traditional academic settings, while others find their confidence, their voice, and sometimes even their reason for coming to school through music, visual art, theatre, dance, and other creative experiences.

Our fine arts teachers are at the heart of that work. Their talent, dedication, and commitment create classrooms where students are challenged, encouraged, and given opportunities to discover gifts they may not have known they possessed. They do far more than teach a subject; they build confidence, discipline, creativity, collaboration, and a sense of belonging in the students they serve.

East Baton Rouge Parish School System remains committed to providing meaningful, high-quality arts experiences for students across our district. We believe access to the arts should not be viewed as an extra, but as an important part of educating the whole child. Through continued investment in our teachers, programs, partnerships, performances, and creative opportunities, we are working to ensure that students have multiple pathways to learn, grow, and succeed.
